Aurex is proud to announce the award of an Aviation and Missile Center Aviation and Missile Technology Consortium, Other Transactional Agreement to support Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Director for Test, Targets Program. Scope of work ranges from advanced modeling, simulation and analysis of emerging target and threat systems and rapid prototyping of new target vehicle hardware in Huntsville, AL. This contract gives both our Mission Center and our Innovation Labs the opportunity to design and deliver affordable target payloads and cutting-edge modeling and simulations supporting rapid execution of future MDA test events bringing on a new era of speed and affordability for missile defense testing.
Of the many payloads under development is our innovative Sensor Package for Optical Characterization and Ballistic Observation of Targets (SPOCBOT) fly along sensor package. SPOCBOT provides affordable calibrated Infrared, Optical and in-band photometry data supporting data acquisition for future MDA test events. This proven technology can be
integrated in any target or space platform gathering invaluable in-situ inspection, surveillance and truth data for Missile Defense System testing. Our next-generation prototypes will support MDA’s efforts to advance missile defense capabilities via increasingly complex test events against the ever-evolving global threats.
"Our world class engineering and science teams are able to develop and integrate new hardware at speed and scale. Payloads ranging in complexity simple deployables and sensors to highly complex target re-entry vehicles are designed, manufactured, qualified, integrated and delivered at record breaking speeds. Our modeling and simulation capabilities will also be leveraged to develop state-of-the-art AI generated threat models which can be used to evaluate applicability of target vehicle designs and to rapidly design new test events. Our capability represents a paradigm shift in missile defense testing. We are honored to have the opportunity to advance the art of the possible for future MDA testing." – John Robertson – Aurex Vice President of Innovation and Research
"I am very pleased by the work that Aurex is performing for MDA as it allows us to rapidly design, manufacture and test (via several planned launches) this world-class hardware to support MDA’s critical missions." – Warren Kohm – Chief Executive Officer
